Economy of Laktaši municipality – basic tendencies
Economic trends in the municipality of Laktaši in 2018 are characterized by growth of total economic activity (measured by total income), growth of foreign trade and export volume, growth of corporate profit, employment growth, presence of indebtedness and insufficient liquidity of the economy, inability to secure favorable sources of financing, difficulties in realization products and collection of receivables, as well as the liquidation and bankruptcy of business entities, as well as the establishment of new companies.
The municipality of Laktaši has maintained the status of a developed municipality, which is attractive to investors as well as to new residents who move to the municipality. In the past year, the municipality of Laktasi recorded a positive migration balance (balance 170).
Total revenue of the municipality’s economy, compared to 2017, increased by KM 159,253,925, or by 12.98%, and amounted to KM 1,386,114,022, which is an indicator of the high level of economic activity. In the total revenue of the Republika Srpska, Laktaši municipalities participate with 6.43% (6.07% in 2017).
In terms of total revenues, profits, foreign trade, and number of companies, Laktaši municipality ranks third in Republika Srpska. In the area of employment, Laktaši are also in a more favorable position than others. The administrative (official) unemployment rate is among the lowest in the Republika Srpska and stands at 13.76% and is well below the national average (28.43%). As at the level of Republika Srpska and BiH, there is a problem of leaving a quality and trained workforce, especially young people abroad, which requires taking systemic measures.
The total number of companies based in the municipality is 550 and is 4.36% higher than in 2017 (527). The number of entrepreneurs increased by 1.55% (yoy) from 772 to 784. In the total number of RS companies (10,143), Laktaši municipality participates with 5.42% (5.27% in 2017). By number of companies Laktaši is the third municipality in RS.
