The area where the City of Laktaši is located is part of the Republika Srpska, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, occupying the northwestern part of our Republic. Specifically, it lies in the region between the City of Banja Luka, Gradiška, and the municipalities of Srbac, Prnjavor, and Čelinac.

The Vrbas River flows through the middle of its territory, dividing it into the Župa area (right bank of the Vrbas) and the Potkozarje-Lijevče Field area (left bank of the Vrbas).

Administratively, it is divided into 11 local communities with 37 settlements, covering a total area of 38,838 hectares.

Situated on important routes since ancient times, the City of Laktaši is highly attractive in terms of connectivity, which has significantly influenced its development and the mindset of its residents.

Connected to Lijevče Field, part of the vast fertile Pannonian Plain, the Laktaši area has always been a place where the rich colors of the Balkans blend with the intertwining influences of East and West. This region is intersected by important roads: the Banja Luka-Gradiška-Okučani highway (connecting to the Belgrade-Zagreb highway), the Banja Luka-Doboj highway, as well as the Klašnice-Prnjavor and Laktaši-Srbac roads. Additionally, Banja Luka International Airport is just three kilometers from the city center, making this area well-connected to European and global metropolises.
