The City of Laktaši has conducted a survey of the business sector for the purposes of the Secondary School Centre’s operations and the development of the enrolment policy for the 2025/2026 academic year, in order to gather information on the workforce needs of the economy and to align the labour market with the developmental requirements of the economy.

The development of the economy and sustainable growth of economic activities require continuous alignment between educational systems and labour market needs. In this context, surveying business entities serves as a key tool for obtaining detailed information on workforce requirements, enabling the effective creation of the enrolment policy.

The survey covered various sectors of the economy, including metal and machinery, chemical, wood industry, trade, and the food industry, in order to gain a comprehensive picture of the occupations required by the economy of the City of Laktaši. Through this analysis, the aim was not only to provide insight into the current workforce needs of the economy but also to understand how the educational system can be adapted to meet those needs. The information obtained from the survey analysis will serve as the basis for defining activities that will help align educational programmes with the real demands of the labour market, as well as guide resources towards the direction that will best serve the city’s economic development in the upcoming period.

The analysis aims to define recommendations for all stakeholders, including educational institutions, local government, and business entities, with the intention of creating a coordinated approach to the development of human resources and the improvement of competencies that are crucial for the development of the economy in the City of Laktaši.

The survey was conducted from August 20th to September 6th, online via Google Drive, and consisted of five specific questions.
